Yorn began his creative ventures during his studies at the Herman Brood Academy, where he produced and performed electronic music. His experimentation with sound and live visuals sparked a fascination with the interplay between image and sound. Combined with a strong desire for collaboration, this led him to study Sound Design at the Netherlands Film Academy, where he graduated in 2024.

What characterizes Yorn is his strong sense of conceptual thinking — meaning before technique. He is fascinated by sound as a phenomenon: something inherently wild and uncontrollable. Yet when combined with film and storytelling, sound must be shaped and structured — a tension that makes the craft endlessly intriguing. Yorn embraces an approach rooted in experimentation and chance. Only by truly listening can meaning emerge within sound design.

Yorn works across short and feature-length films, both fiction and documentary. His work spans the full spectrum of post-production sound — from sound design and editing to re-recording mixing. He operates from his home workstation in Barendrecht, near Rotterdam, and frequently collaborates in various studios and with fellow sound professionals.
